The logistics of this fascinates me.  I thought in normal commodities trading you effectively bought a barrel of oil, but someone else held onto it.  But in this case, they need new places to put the oil.  So would they insist on actually delivering the oil to you (and making you pay for delivery of it)?

This has me very worried we’re about to face a rash of action movies.

W ith the price per barrel going negative, ordinary people will begin buying barrels and storing them willy nilly in stacks around their property. Along come baddies quarrelling with international playboy spies. The B-grade thugs hide behind the stacks of barrels, agent Charles Thundercrotc h gets off a few well placed 9mm shots and BOOM! Barrels rocketing into the sky.
